Terms of Service

These terms cover the Faders browser extension, the Faders plugin for OBS, faders.tv, the streamer portal and Faders Pro (together, "Faders"). Faders is run by Joshua Phillips, an individual based in Alberta, Canada ("we", "us"). By using Faders you agree to these terms.

What Faders does

Streamers use the OBS plugin to send separate voice, game and music audio to Faders. Viewers with the extension can then set their own level for each one on that streamer's Twitch channel. Audio is relayed in real time and is never recorded. Faders isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Twitch, and you still need to follow Twitch's own rules when you use it.

Viewers

The extension is free. On a Faders channel you hear the streamer's audio through Faders; whenever Faders can't play it (an ad break, a connection problem, or a channel that has reached its listener limit), you hear Twitch's normal audio instead.

Streamers

• Your channel. You can only connect a Twitch channel you own or are authorised to run. Keep your plugin keys private, and revoke any key you think has leaked.
• Your audio. You're responsible for what you send through Faders, the same as what you stream on Twitch. Only send audio you have the right to broadcast. You give us permission to relay it to your listeners for as long as you use Faders; we don't claim any ownership of it.
• Listener limits. Each plan has a limit on how many people can listen through Faders at once (Free: 25, Pro: 1,000). Viewers beyond the limit hear Twitch's normal audio.

Acceptable use

Don't use Faders to break the law or anyone else's rights, to send audio you aren't allowed to broadcast, to overload or attack the service, to get around plan limits, or to access channels or accounts that aren't yours. The OBS plugin is open source under its own licence (GPL-2.0-or-later); these terms cover the Faders service it connects to.

Faders Pro

• Price. Pro is US$15 per month or US$150 per year, plus any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
• Payments. Checkout and billing are handled by RevenueCat, with card payments processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until you cancel.
• Cancelling. Cancel anytime from Manage billing in the streamer portal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and then your channel moves to Free. Nothing on your channel is deleted, but Pro features such as stream history stop.
• Refunds. If Pro isn't right for you, email hello@faders.tv within 7 days of a charge and we'll refund it in full. After 7 days, charges aren't refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or Faders didn't work as described.
• Price changes. If we change the price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you want to.

Changes and availability

We're always improving Faders, so features may change. We work hard to keep Faders running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Because Faders depends on Twitch, a change on Twitch's side can stop it working until we update it. If we ever shut Faders down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any yearly Pro plan.

Ending your use

You can stop using Faders at any time: uninstall the extension or plugin, and ask us to delete your account at hello@faders.tv. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Unless the problem is serious or illegal, we'll contact you first and give you a chance to fix it.

Disclaimers and liability

Faders is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example, lost revenue or viewers), and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CA$50 if you haven't paid us anything. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and tell Pro subscribers by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Faders after that, the new terms apply.
