Your levels.
Your mix.

Set your own volume levels on Faders-enabled live streams. Each audio layer has its own slider, so your mix changes only for you. Today you can balance voice, game and music independently on Twitch.

For desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox, not phones yet. Streamer doesn't use Faders yet? Ask them to add it.

How it works

Install once. Mix Faders-enabled streams.

  1. 01

    Add the extension

Add Faders from the Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons or Firefox Add-ons. The extension currently runs on twitch.tv.

    ChromeEdgeFirefox
  2. 02

    Open a Faders channel

The streamer must send separate audio layers with the Faders OBS plugin. On a supported live channel, click Mix this stream at the bottom right of the video.

  3. 03

    Set your mix

Adjust each layer to suit you. Your settings don't change anyone else's mix, and the audio stays in sync with the video.

Your own volume levels

Change your mix. Everyone else keeps theirs.

A normal volume control turns the whole stream up or down. Faders gives you a separate control for each audio layer the streamer sends.

  1. 01

    Choose what you hear

Keep commentary clear, lower background music, or bring the game up. The current Voice, Game and Music sliders control those layers independently.

  2. 02

    Keep it personal

Your sliders affect only your listening experience. The streamer’s broadcast and every other viewer’s settings stay the same.

  3. 03

    Start with a supported channel

Faders needs separate layers from the streamer’s OBS plugin. It can’t separate sounds from an ordinary mixed stream. Read the viewer setup guide or help your streamer get started.

What you'll notice

It just sounds like the stream, your way.

Perfect lip-sync

Faders listens to the stream and lines its audio up automatically, within about ±10 ms in testing. No delay settings to fiddle with.

Ads play normally

During ad breaks, Faders steps aside and you hear Twitch's audio. It's not an ad blocker, and streamers keep their revenue.

Viewer questions

Does it cost anything?

No. The extension is free, and viewers don't pay.

Why don't I see Faders on a channel?

The streamer needs the Faders OBS plugin. Without it there are no separate layers to mix, so the panel stays hidden. You can request the channel so they see viewers want it.

Does it work on mobile or TV apps?

Not yet. It runs in desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox.

Which streaming platforms does it support?

Twitch is supported today. YouTube Live, Kick and X/Twitter support are on the roadmap and are not available yet.

Will I miss ads, or block them?

Neither. During ad breaks Faders steps aside and you hear Twitch's own audio, so ads play as normal.

What does the extension access?

It only runs on twitch.tv. It reads the player's audio to stay in sync, and reads Twitch's ad-break signals so it can step aside during ads. It never reads your chat and never changes Twitch's requests.
